Surtain deal to get done right around draft day, if it's going to get done at all
|
The Surtain deal seemed likely to get done on draft day or right before - if it gets done at all. Chiefs might be smart to go ahead and hand over second-rounder because their history of second-round picks is miserable anyway. SourceRead More ... |

CBS Sportsline KC Draft Needs
|
Kansas City Chiefs
This is another team that has to get better on defense, and needs young blood. The Chiefs have to get a quality outside pass rusher at some point in the draft. They also need a cover corner after not landing one in free agency. Look for an early pick on a receiver, too.
Needs in order: DE, CB, WR, DT, T

Booth's conversion to WR complete
|
"It's hard to tell he's a converted quarterback," said Amsterdam offensive coordinator John Allen.

But don't the Chiefs need linebackers, too?Read More ... |

NEW SURTAIN INFO
|
At Taylor's annual charity event Sunday, cornerback Patrick Surtain said he would prefer to remain in Miami but wasn't optimistic about getting a deal worked out.
The Dolphins are waiting for the Chiefs to sweeten their offer before trading the two-time Pro Bowl defensive back, who has agreed in principle to a multimillion dollar contract extension with Kansas City. South Florida Sun-Sentinel |
